The retail customer and the distributor can access client usage information online via a user-friendly website, and the client has access to the last month’s itemised bill online for their prepaid account.
Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, the network operator has selected a proven software platform that allows for:
- Subscribers can directly recharge their own prepaid account anytime, anywhere, without the necessity to travel to a point of sale or hand over cash. They can recharge their call credit while roaming, and can top-up using a variety of channels including SMS, WEB, WAP, IVR, ATM and JavaCard.
- Distributors of prepaid call credit can rapidly implement, provision and manage an extensive network of resellers to sell prepaid call credit to cash subscribers using their mobile handset...simply, securely without vouchers or expensive wired POS networks.
Amongst other things, the software means that ranges of SIM cards can be allocated to the distributor and then the individual retail customers can top up online with the network operator, but the distributor (and its distribution channel) can receive ongoing airtime commissions, even without being involved in the sales process of those top up amounts.
