Emergency Responders Ask for ICE
Wireless phones are often used as a lifeline in times of crisis by connecting or reuniting loved ones.
A simple concept by a British paramedic has gained widespread interest. Wireless phone users are being asked to put the acronym ICE, In Case of Emergency, before the names of the people they want to designate as next of kin in their wireless phone address books, creating entries such as "ICE -- Dad" or "ICE -- Jen".
According to emergency service responders, the ICE concept could save valuable time when a disaster occurs.
